Below is the race information for the Ridgeway Run 2021

This year we ask please that you bring your own water carriers, there will be refill stations but we will not be handing out plastic bottles.

PRIZES

Prizes will be given to 1st / 2nd/ 3rd places both male and female on the 10 mile and 5 mile route.

The 2 mile route is an updated route originally created to encourage younger people to have a go at trail running. Open to all ages prizes will only be given to the 1st/ 2nd / 3rd placed runner aged 12 and under.

ALL RACE NUMBERS AND CHIPS WILL BE POSTED OUT PRIOR TO THE EVENT.

Remember to bring safety pins and race belt. It is a challenging course please ensure that you are fit enough to run it.

MEDICAL INFORMATION

There will be first aid and marshals on the course. Runners are recommended to put personal/ medical details on the reverse of their race numbers. It is the runner’s responsibility to check any health issues.

PARKING AND FACILITIES

The event car park will be open from 0700.

Parking: Car park £2 up to two hours, £4 all day. Free for National Trust members if you scan your membership card at the car park machine you will receive a free ticket and free for blue badge holders.

Toilets will be available at the event car park.

There is no secure bag drop area, please make sure that you do not leave anything of value unattended.

THE START/ FINISH OF THE RACE

The 2 mile race will start at 0900.  There will be a race briefing at the start at 0850.  

All runners are required to attend the race briefing at the start for the 5 and 10 mile race at 09.45.

The 10 mile run will start at 1000 and the 5 mile run will start at 1010. All runners are asked to allow plenty of time to reach the start of the race. At the start and finish please take care of other runners, spectators and traffic that may be using the car park and road.

THE COURSE

The Ridgeway is a National Trail and surrounding footpaths are open to all the public please be considerate of other users not taking part in the event. You will be running over agricultural land we ask you to respect this and keep to the footpaths.

Water Stations will be at intervals along the course. Please do not litter the course.

It is asked that spectators keep dogs on leads at all times and remain clear of the course.

The route will be clearly marked with directional arrows, the course is marshalled, the 10 mile route will have a front bike and back bike. THERE ARE NO MILE MARKERS ON THE COURSE THE 10 MILE AND 5 MILE COURSE WILL HAVE A HALFWAY MARKER

RUNNING WITH DOGS

We welcome dogs to run with you as long as they are on leads at all times, at the start/finish/race HQ and during the run. Please be respectful of other runners who may not like dogs.

Our insurance does not cover your dogs or any damage/injury they may cause to another person(s) we request that you have public liability insurance for your dog.

Dogs must be a minimum of 18 months old on the day of the race, in season, pregnant or lactating bitches are not permitted to race. Bitches in Season should be kept well away from the start / finish area and not taken on or near the course if brought to the event.

 Dogs should not be brought to the event if they are coughing or have recently been in contact with infectious disease. It is the owners responsibility to ensure their dog is fit and healthy before racing. If in doubt consult your vet.

PLEASE PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG.

CLOTHING

The course is predominately trail and grass footpaths, trail shoes are advisable and spikes are banned. Please ensure that you have enough warm clothing for before and after the event.

Headphones and other similar listening devices are not allowed.

You must wear your race number on your front with safety pins or race belt. Please ensure that it is fully visible and secure, as without it we will be unable to provide you with an official/ accurate finish time.

All finishers will receive a medal, there will be prize giving for each event.  Prize winners will be announced as soon as results are in.
